About Us

Vietnam USA Foundation is a sister organisation of Vietnam Foundation, which was established in 1995 and is one of the most recognised and trusted charities with an impressive track record of projects in Vietnam. We seek to serve as a bridge between the US and Vietnam to bring relief aid and development assistance to poor and disadvantaged communities in rural Vietnam.

Vietnam USA Foundation is an approved public charity under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). We are exempt from federal income tax, and donors can deduct contributions under IRC Section 170.

We make education accessible to children living in poverty by providing scholarships, recycled bicycles for kids, and building schools in poor communities. Our bridge building program transforms and connects communities, and our rainwater harvesting vats initiative brings clean water and better health to thousands of families in remote areas of Vietnam.

Help us touch and transform the lives of poor and disadvantaged women and children in Vietnam.

Our Mission

We seek to empower women and children in Vietnam to break out of the endless cycle of poverty, and to change the lives of poor people and communities in remote rural areas of Vietnam.

We work collaboratively with our local partners to deliver a range of well targeted development and aid programs in a cost-effective, empowering and sustainable way.

Our Approach

Our focus is to not only provide aid to those in need, but to empower whole communities. We place strong emphasis on working with our local partners in Vietnam to optimise the effectiveness of funds, and on participation by local communities, which also helps aid recipients and communities build capacity and resilience while creating a better, more sustainable environment.

Our Board are volunteers who are committed to ensuring donations received go directly to creating impact to communities in Vietnam.

We partner with local charities and communities to deliver projects cost-effectively and to help aid recipients and communities build capacity, self-reliance and resilience.

Recycling and Environmental Sustainability

Our recycled bicycles program for school children promotes recycling and enables children in remote areas to get to school. Our rain water vats program saves women hours fetching clean water each day and improves the health of families.

Why Vietnam USA Foundation?

  • Our operation is entirely run by volunteers with minimal overheads. At least 95% of your donation money goes directly to changing the lives of poor women, children, and communities in Vietnam.

  • We deliver a range of education and health projects and programs targeting women and children at grassroot level. Our Build A Future Scholarship programs provide a permanent off-ramp out of poverty for thousands of poor and deserving children.

  • Our project delivery is highly cost-effective thanks to our deep local knowledge and strong connection to charities and NGOs partners. We galvanize and empower local communities by involving them at grassroot level in project delivery.
